Reading the Line: Barnet in Detail

Barnet's contour can be firm, mobile and intensely blue. It travels between objects, separates colour fields and creates relationships that do not depend entirely on ordinary perspective.

Within that framework, paint may be thin and quiet or visibly impastoed, especially in flowers and expressive passages.

A landscape can turn around a single path or tree. A still life can be held together by cobalt blue, zinc white and olive green. A bouquet can become a field of rhythm, pressure and light.
